Spinea

Our day has been a relaxing one as we moved from Bologna to Spinea, Spinea being a bus ride outside of Venice.

We choose to stay outside Venice to save on the horrendous cost of parking a vehicle on the island during our visit

The drive was only around 2 hours and after a morning tea stop at an Autogrill on the autostrade we arrived around 11.30am.

The ------- (blasted, bloody, etc.,) GPS told us we were at our accommodation so we got out and tried to find it.

After asking a passer-by and then driving for another 1km approx. we did find it smack in the middle of Spinea.

Again photos can be deceptive as the website photo is a poor resemblance to the actual look of the place which gave an initial impression of being run down.

We are in the Oriental room as shown on the website  (http://www.laforesteria.net/eng/ambiente.html).

Also it is a delight to have tea making facilities available the first time since we left Roma

However we could not be more delighted - the host Giovanni (but we can call him Vanni), has very good English and knows how to treat guests and the room he has provided is classy as he has a love of modern art.

Nothing is too much trouble for Vanni right down to giving us his mobile number for us to call him at anytime if there are any issues.

Having lived out of a suitcase now for 2 odd weeks we were in need of time to do some necessities so after lunch we sought out the local laundromat and did the business.

It is very hot, 31 degrees, and nearly every shop closed from around 1.30pm to 3.30pm so the town was dead - this allowed us to relax in our air conditioned room in anticipation of 2 full days in Venice starting after breakfast (with Vanni) tomorrow morning.

We are both well and are enjoying our time immensely.

We trust family and friends are also well.

Till later!

  1. Morning Guys.
I'm sure Vanni will look after you! It was a shame I wasn't here when you skyped the other day. I will be home tomorrow (study leave) and likely to be awake by 7:30ish if that will fit with your plans.

    Ciao!
