A highlight

Today Dave Bradley took us to Abu Dhabi which is approximately 140kms down the coast from Dubai.

Our main port of call was to visit The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque which is a jaw dropping example of what money can buy those who worship a God

In short it is magnificent and no words of mine will go anywhere near describing it

We took a "private tour" with a cultural adviser Mohammed who gave us an insight into the Muslim religion - a more peaceful man you could not hope to meet.
After over an hour the tour had to stop as Mohammed and the others of his faith were called to the 12.29pm prayer - the second of the five times every day that Muslim's deliver a prayer to Allah.

Hopefully the photos give some idea off the magnificence of this place of worship

We ventured on to the Emirates Palace Hotel which is another obscene example of wealth in this region, a hotel which has reputably the only gold bar vending machine in the world and without a word of a lie we witnessed a man put his credit card into the machine to buy a 2.5gram bar - whether he actually made the purchase I don't know because the last message I saw on the screen was "Declined"

On the way back to Dubai we stopped at the Yas Marina Hotel which straddles the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 circuit to have a look at another example of someone's imagination not constrained by cost

Tomorrow morning we have been invited by Emirates to be their guests for another 6 or so hours and as they have promised to drop us off in Rome we did not reject their kind offer
