Nothing changes...

... the temperatures stay in the mid 30's and we haven't seen rain since day 1 in Rome for all of 10 minutes.

After a later breakfast we ventured back to La Rambla to do mostly window shopping and people watching - this area is a hive of activity including street performers of various types, gamblers playing a game of "under which of the 3 match boxes is the marble" and betting up to 50 euros a guess, souvenir shops and cafe/restaurants.

Various text measures from home kept me up to date with the Warriors game and I followed the second half back in the hotel where we had lunch.

Early afternoon we took the funicular & Teleferic (gondola) to the top of Montjuic and had a walk around the castle on top of the hill as well as taking in the panoramic view of the city and harbour.

The castle is an 18th century fortress, built not to defend the city but to watch over it.

We then walked approx. halfway down the hill and then took the cable car to Barceloneta, the city's waterfront area, before walking back into the Raval area and finally back to the hotel for a refreshing swim in the pool.

Dinner tonight was in a street side restaurant which was interesting in that as we paid the bill we were offered complimentary glasses of champagne - pity that the offer didn't come when we arrived!

Prior to dinner followed the AB's game against South Africa - won't comment on the game in case the result is not known when you read the blog

Tomorrow we leave Barcelona and move on to Toulouse via the principality  of Andorra - a more than 5 hour drive up through the eastern Pyrenees and at an average elevation of 2,000 metres.

Wikipedia tells us that Andorra has 300 days of sunshine a year so it will be interesting to see if tomorrow is one of them!
