Well yes and no!
How so?
They are the same in so far as they have numerous fashion shops - the likes of Jimmy Choo, Marks & Spencer, Givenchy, you know those common outlets!
But they are different as they have some extras - in the case of the Dubai Mall there are 2 water falls, an aquarium and an ice rink and the Mall of Emirates has an indoor ski slope!

We spent the better part of the day in the Malls traveling between the two by Metro 
After leaving the Emirates mall we went by Metro to the Gold, Textile & Spice souks in old Dubai.
Must be getting old as didn't find the atmosphere in these conducive to window shopping as the natives kept coming up and offering you knock-offs.
"Sir, a Rolex?, a Breitling?, a leather hand bag for your lady?"
"No thanks mate I'm only out shopping for condoms!"
We took a ride on the abra across the Dubai Creek and got a taxi to the Wafi Centre where we had a very nice Lebanese meal before taking another taxi back to the apartment to end a long but enjoyable day and finally put the aching feet up!
Dubai looks like an interesting yet bemusing place. Good place to defrost after the cold weather we had. Bet it suits you to a tea mum!!
